Good morning,
Tomorrow, I will post a Table of Contents for my novel's first —whoah —99 episodes. This will list each episode by name and number, and you should be able to access each post by clicking on each episode’s link. Hopefully, this will work. This is the first part of a project to make my novel more reader-friendly. Once the Table of Contents posts, I will pin it to the top of my page so you can easily access the novel’s episodes. Within the week, I will post a Table of Contents for the episodes beyond 99. I will also post a small page explaining the status quo of character prior to the novel’s events. I will also pin these two pages as well.
A more tedious project is adding previous and next post links to each episode, as well as a link to the Table of Contents pages. I realize that this is just as necessary for easy navigation as the content page, so this is on my docket. That being said, I am looking at page design. I do not want the links to interfere with the reading experience. Do you think that I should put the links at the top of each post or the bottom?
Thank you again for your patience. I see now that I should’ve done most of this stuff a long time ago. But putting up this page has been a learning experience.
Thank you again for your support and readership,
JD McBride
Personally I like links at the bottom of pages. There it reminds me of footnotes and if there are several links I go back and forth from the text to the footnotes something like I do when reading printed books. Glad you're designing an org system but goodness what a challenge!!
